The March edition of the Netflix ISP Speed Index reveals notable shifts in internet providers' performance for streaming Netflix during prime time.

Spain's telecom sector saw a significant boost, with R achieving the highest monthly increase of 0.57 Mbps, elevating its average to 3.63 Mbps from February’s 3.06 Mbps. This improvement allowed Vodafone to climb three spots to second place, while Euskaltel also advanced three positions to third.

In contrast, Japan experienced a decline in its rankings, dropping seven places to reach 24th. Biglobe, a major provider, faced the steepest slide, with speeds falling from 3.29 Mbps in February to 2.87 Mbps this month. Other contributors to Japan’s downward movement included Tokai Communications and Iij, which both fell four spots—Tokai to tenth and Iij to thirteenth.

Meanwhile, Taiwan continued its progress, gaining 0.42 Mbps to reach an average of 2.75 Mbps, up from 2.33 Mbps last month.

The Philippines saw a positive trend as Skycable improved its ranking by two positions to second place, with speeds rising to 2.51 Mbps from 2.19 Mbps. Similarly, India’s Syscon Infoway moved up two spots, reaching a 1.8 Mbps average after a 0.3 Mbps increase.

Guatemala’s Tigo Star increased its speeds by 0.25 Mbps, now averaging 2.45 Mbps, up from 2.2 Mbps. Conversely, Ecuador’s TV Cable experienced a slowdown, with speeds decreasing to 2.51 Mbps from 2.75 Mbps previously.

On the country level, Ireland advanced five spots to 17th, and Canada improved three positions to 21st in the rankings.
